Kids need to move. Simple as that. They need to run, jump, roll, push, and pull. They need to swing, catch, slam, bounce and kick. All these are the essential ingredients for health and fitness for kids, and best of all, these things are a ton of fun! These essentials are not just for athletes, and neither is Get Fit NH Kids. Our mission is to instill a love for fitness and sport in every child in order to lay the groundwork for optimal health for the rest of his or her life.
At Get Fit NH Kids we teach kids how to move their bodies in the proper planes of motion in order to develop movement patterns that not only apply to sport, but to life. Not every child will be an athlete or wants to play competitive sports, but every person should be aware of how his or her body works and how to take care of it. Improved strength, speed and flexibility are a natural by-product of a child with improved motor skills and mental focus.
We emphasize fundamentals in our training, not a sport specific focus. We believe that kids should be exposed to a wide variety of sport, not just the one they may seem to have a natural affinity towards. The ability to optimally run, jump, squat, push, pull and react will improve not only overall ability, but the enjoyment of the pursuit. Children who show ability at an early age and are steered into one sport are often left behind in their teens because of this over-specialization. Kids who don’t show “natural” abilities in the pre-teen years are left on the bench, lose the will to play, and never have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Either of these scenarios do a great disservice to our children, and should be avoided. Every child can and should be allowed to play, to compete, and to have fun. We believe there is a time and a place for emphasizing competition and winning, but not at the expense of foundational learning.
We look forward to working with you and your children. Please give us a call at 603 344-2651 or Contact Us with any questions or to setup a consultation.
